Welcome to the first Father's Day edition of the CMP newsletter, where we hope to match a few cool moms with some great ideas for the cool men in your lives.
We're also thrilled to introduce you to CMP fabulous find--and our newest sponsor--Natural Pod, and to offer you some subscriber goodies like exclusive discounts to go with our staff picks of the month, and the chance to win a Father's Day keepsake from Little Jules. (Only don't call it a keepsake. Dads hate that stuff.)
Now aren't you glad you subscribed?
By the way, if you know a friend who's not getting our newsletter, help us help them. Just click the link at the very bottom and forward it on. We'd be right honored. And new newsletter sign-ups this month will be entered to win a $870 package from Mason & Matisse including a gorgeous Ayres twin bed and bedding from Boodalee.
Happy June. And stay away from the mom shorts.

It's Not A Man Purse
Nothing says love like sparing the man in your life the indignity of carrying around your pink and gold floral brocade diaper bag.
So if you're still looking for a Father's Day gift that actually has something to do with fathering, we've tracked down the hottest dad bags on the web just for you.
*For the uptown dad, the faux leather Dadadoo Dad Bag in black, of course. ($149)
*For the environmental crusader, Passchal's rad Dad's Baby Bag made entirely from recycled truck tire inner tubes. ($175)
*For the jeans and T-shirt dad, the comfy, casual Skip*Hop duo--in denim, of course. ($79)
*For the dad who has everything, the limited edition canvas/leather Cole Diaper Bag from StorkSak ($250, shown above) that can double as a laptop bag--although please, not at the same time!
*For the brand new and probably freaked-the-heck out dad, the Cool Daddy gift pack from Bambino Baskets ($98) stuffed with all kinds of useful goodies. You can even customize your own - a little Xanax in the bottle pocket, perhaps?
You don't have to be a dad (or a mom) to find great picks every day at Cool Mom Picks!
CMP Dadtrepreneur of the Month: Jeff Kendall
Name: Jeff Kendall, father to Cole and Parker, and founder of Little Ruler - purveyor of authentic skater-punk branded clothing for infants and toddlers.
Former life: Professional skateboarder for Santa Cruz.
On the leap from halfpipes to half-pints: "Always knew I would have kids but didn't really hit me until after Cole was born that in order for us to be happy with what clothes we were putting him we were going to have to make them ourselves."
On the leap from skate legend to business owner: "Transitioning from professional skating into ANY other profession is not easy."
The celebrity factor: Angelina Jolie and Gwen Stefani are Little Ruler fans (the toddler trucker hats are big hits). You can also spot the designs on the offspring of skaters-slash-parents like Andrew Reynolds, Danny Way, Erik Ellington, and Jason Lee - whose tot sports the skateboarding is not a crime comic tee.
"Born. Skateboarding." Really?: "I think around a year and a half or two it's time to get them standing on a board on the carpet at least. They get to learn how the tail and nose work before beginning to roll. Then a helmet and supervision is mandatory for a while."
What if Jeff's kids prefer button-down shirts over Santa Cruz hoodies?: "I'll miss 'em. Just kidding of course. Hard to say how I'd react, but the way I see it is as long as they're happy and healthy so am I."
If you believe kids deserve clothing with character, and not characters, Little Ruler will make even a carrot-spewing bundle of joy look cool from head to toe.
In Case You Missed It: Staff Picks for May
With a near 19lb 4-month old, my back needs a break. The PortaMEe hip carrier is worth its weight (or at least my baby's) in gold. -Kristen
My toddler is moving to a real bed soon, and I'll be swapping out her old pastel crib blankets for something with more of a big girl vibe. The patchwork blanket from Gama-Go promises to be soft and comforting like her old blankets, but it has a hip and unique style that she won't quickly outgrow. -Nancy
The hand-embroidered felt designs on the onesies from Jakc Designs Babyshop are so ridiculously adorable they almost make me want to have another baby, just so I can stock her dresser. Oh wait...I just did have another baby. Off to shop! -Liz
*Free gift with purchase - mention Cool Mom Picks in notes at Paypal checkout
I really wouldn't mind a house full of toys if they were all Dado Cubes from Mason & Matisse. Because these toys look like art. Oh and they're good for brain development and visual spatial intelligence too. Details. -Laura
We all wish we'd had the dough to afford one of the services of The Baby Planners and Itsabelly Baby Concierge when we were pregnant. Then maybe we'd have had more time for, you know...sleep. -Staff
*10% discount with coupon code "COOL" (through June 16)
Kindergarten starts in less than two months (gulp), and thanks to Mabel's Labels, my girl will have the coolest labels in class - and all of her stuff will come home with her, not her classmates. -Julie
