My daughter has a thing for flipflops these days probably because she sees me wearing them all the time. So I did a dumb thing and bought a cheap pair from a big mall store that's I think are made of sandpaper and barbed wire. She is miserable every time she puts them on.

If you need another reason to be happy it's spring, just check out Eleven's new Spring line of shoes. A sort of "big sister/big brother" to our fave See Kai Run, I've gushed about Eleven before--I love their shoes which combine cool kid-appropriate fashion with run-and-jump rubber bottoms in bigger-kid sizes 9 to 3.

More and more, I'm starting to care about how the clothes my family wears are made and by whom. I'm no crazy dogmatic eco-ista, but there's something to be said for corporate responsibility and giving back and supporting people who ride hybrid corn-fed unicorns to work instead of Hummers. Or whatever. Which is why I'm happy to discover the shoes from KEEN.
