Ooh la la! A market tote at a not so upmarket price.

Harabu House French Market Basket tote bagOnly a few days until pool season officially starts for us here in the the deep south, which means I'm stocking up all our swimming staples: swimsuits, flip-slops, and our pool bag.

With all the straw baskets and totes taking up shelf space in almost all of my favorite shops, I'm thinking I might forgo our typical canvas bag for something a little different. And I found just the one that I want.

5 Tech Picks You Won't Want to Miss This Week

Mmm... cupcakes!Just in case you missed them, here are some of our top tech picks from Cool Mom Tech over the last week.

1. Move over, gourmet cupcakeries. This beautifully designed cupcake app makes delicious DIY a piece of cake. With sprinkles.

2. This free app is so helpful for shoppers, that we liken it to the secret menu at In 'n Out. Why did it take so long?

3. A pretty (and water-resistant!) piece of jewelry that can help you remember when you last nursed and how long the pizza has been in the oven. Our Facebook fans went wild for them, and we're not surprised.

4. Father's Day tech gift alert: What's bigger, smarter, and can power a whole party with hot jams? Um, this cool box perfect for audiophiles.

5. If you have overseas jetsetting planned this summer, you won't want to miss this very smart service that takes the pain (and some of the shame) out of pre-travel preparation.

If toddlers could write poetry, it would go something like this

Revenge poetry for babiesPoems about children and parenting can be kind of, um, hit or miss. Whether it's too saccharin or just too earnest, I'm not sure--all I know is that it often leaves me vaguely uncomfortable. (And I was a creative writing major!)

Not the case with To What Miserable Wretches Have I Been Born? Revenge Poetry for Babies and Toddlers. Although you might have guessed that from the title.

LEGO Minifigures are breeding!

LEGO Minifig babiesLiving with three LEGO-obsessed children, it does seem like these little bricks multiply like magic. But now, it appears that those innocent-looking little minifigures have been busy doing a little uh, multiplying on their own. Oh, yes, we've got babies.

Two adorable Kokeshi dolls that are made to be read

Yumi and AokiAs much as my kids and I love Japanese Kokeshi dolls, I can't bring myself to let another collection into the house, what with all the stuffed animals and favorite rocks already displayed around my girls' room.

But, I've found a way to combine Kokeshi cute with another collection I can totally get behind: Books! And, trust me, these adorable stories are just as sweet as a shelf full of dolls.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Rainbow wall shelfRainbows are a classic design staple.  When I was a little girl, my entire room was decorated in rainbows, which might have been a little too much, come to think of it.  But one here and there adds color and whimsy.

BOB gets into the stroller accessory game and the kids aren't complaining a bit.

BOB Revolution SE strollerToddlerhood is a mover and shaker kind of lifestyle, which is probably why our first lower budget stroller wore out its welcome fairly quickly, and our replacement umbrella stroller is handy--but not souped-up enough for a long day bopping around. It seemed the timing was right to find a ride to fit our new lifestyle and we have with the BOB Revolution SE, launched just last year.

Is it right for you too? Because they've got a sweet new accessory that might sweeten the deal.

Cool vintage toys, gifts, and clothes for kids, all in one place

Vintage Big Bird and the Orchestra posterWhen I had my first daughter almost eight years ago, I decided that my gift to each of my children would be to start a collection of some kind. And so, whenever I'm at an antique show or making my weekly Etsy rounds, I look for the perfect items to add to their collections-- from old vintage pretzel tins from the Quinlan company (my daughter's first name) to vintage Fisher Price fire truck toys for my son.

So of course I was instantly drawn to the well-curated Wary Meyers Kids Shop, which is chock full of some of the most amazing vintage ephemera, clothes, and toys for kids I've ever seen.
