One of my resolutions this year is to be a little more diligent about getting kids to write thank-you cards. So the first thing I did was order some that they got to pick out themselves.
No sooner are the holidays over that I need to get on that thank-you note writing for all those generous gifts. And when I saw this stamp, I thought, ooh..
Okay so maybe I'm jumping the gun a little with the Christmas thank you notes, but hey--next week I'll be carousing with family, New Year's will hit, I'm back to work, and bam, no more free time.
Thank you cards can be a chore or an adventure. A joy, even. We vote for joy.
My mom was amazing with personal notes--she always produced the loveliest card, written just-so, perfectly on-time, for every occasion. Her mastery of the art form skipped a generation.
My children are fortunate to have extremely generous family members who love to spoil them with lots of Christmas gifts.
It was her very first ballet recital, and I wanted everyone we know to see her joyful smile as she hugged her first bouquet of roses. But that doesn't mean I'm going to just give away our new cards from Shutterfly. I might just keep them all for myself.
The thought of sending a note card via the internet would generally make my inner Emily Post faint, but after seeing the gorgeous new paperless thank you cards, from CMP fave Paperless Post, I think I can hear her applauding.
We've had a little discussion among the editors here at Cool Mom Picks about baby thank you cards. Written by the mom "from the baby" - yes or no? The consensus was a resounding "no," but as it turns out, we'd definitely make an exception with the baby thank you cards from Canopy Cards.
I had my fair share of hearty chuckles after discovering Motherhood with Attitude's hilarious greeting cards last year. So when co-owner Janalee Chmel clued me in to their new Thank You Card Box Set, it's no wonder I nearly peed my pants again. And not just because I'm in my third trimester.
The holidays are over, and if the commercials and billboards and return lines at the mall are any indication, a lot of us received a whole lot of stuff. But whether we loved the gifts we received - or we just pretended to - handwritten thank you notes are always a good idea.
