It's hard trying to sort through all the plastic safety issues these days when it comes to feeding our kids. Between BPA, pthalates, melamine fears and microwave warnings, sometimes I just want to throw up my hands in frustration; does everything have to come with a warning these days?

I don't remember having trouble learning how to use a straw but, then again, I'm about four decades past that stage in life. It was my kids who made me realize that "straw use" was going to be another one of those odd little skills I was going to have to teach them.
