The coolest collar necklace and bib necklaces - this year's must-have New Year's Eve statement jewelry

Should you be lucky enough to have willing grandparents or a dedicated babysitter for New Year's Eve this year, it's a good excuse to find yourself some sweet jewelry to jazz up last year's little black dress. (Or you know, the one from 2008. Should it still fit.)

The bib necklace and the collar necklace are pretty much the hottest things right now, and I've rounded up just a few that I'm loving, in every price range.

 

How to wear them:
Both tend to look best with a low cut top that leaves enough skin for the necklace to sit on completely--or even strapless, if you dare. The collar necklace can also look great if it perfectly grazes the neckline, so it looks like a metal collar on the top itself.

Now I tend to find with jewelry that you get what you pay for. So while there are a few huge steals here under $50, they're going to feel more costume-y than the stuff made with real precious metals and gems. Then again, sometimes costume-y is exactly right for a fun night on the town.

Keep in mind you can't necessarily get all of them in time for New Year's. But hey, they'll give you a good sense of what's hip, what hot, and maybe you'll find something similar at a boutique near you. Or maybe it's worth waiting for?
