FashionABLE scarves get more fashionable, if that was possible
I feel a personal commitment to the amazing company
fashionABLE, since having visited their operation in Ethiopia and meeting so many of the women who actually made the scarves. It's even one of my very favorite picks this year in our
Holiday Gift Guide, under the category of chic gifts that give back.
Now, there's two more styles that I'm extremely excited about, in part because they support an organization I love; and in part because I (along with some other amazing bloggers) helped make them. Really!
When we visited at fashionABLE, as part of our Ethiopian trip with the
ONE moms, we saw the gorgeous
slate and marigold scarf designed just for the ONE online shop, and adored it. But then...when we all caught sight of that stunning
coral scarf there was much oohing and ahhing, especially by design bloggers like
Gabrielle Blair, who knew it would be a fabulous pop of color all year round. After much insistence, ONE decided to have both made.
(We can be a very convincing bunch!)
What's extra fun--we actually saw the Ethiopian artisans who are employed there create these scarves, and even had the chance to help them out a bit.

If you're looking for a great-looking holiday gift for the women in your life--and a really affordable one at that. Plus it helps support women who have been rescued from commercial sex work and are getting their lives back in order.
And if you happen to like that tangerine color? Well I wouldn't mind knowing that you helped prove us right. -Liz
Find the ONE fashionable scarf in two gorgeous colors exclusively online at the ONE store. Because FashionABLE is a non-profit, 100% of the purchase price supports the women artisans.
I was honored to join ONE on the ground in Ethiopia this fall for a week to see just how valuable foreign aid is to the lives of families and children in Africa.

Awesome post, cool mom. This is the future of shopping: finding truly exclusive stuff without the designer markup, made sustainably by artisans all over the world! Really enjoyed this post.
