Long live disco

The news that The Bee Gees' Robin Gibb died this weekend seems particularly poignant following Donna Summer's passing last week: Two of the most significant voices of my childhood, gone. I, for one, am thrilled that their music will live on for generations.
And though I have no desire to throw a
Staying Alive tee on my kids, I've found a few cool, not cheesy, clothing ideas for children with a nod to the 70's disco era that seem a perfect homage. Crank up the
Baby Loves Disco album and put on your boogie shoes.

The boogie shoes have wings in
Appaman's rollerskate-themed dress,
swim suit, and
tank at Psychobaby. Add a rainbow, and you've got proof that some icons will be popular with girls, whatever the decade.
The printed
disco baby tee or onesie comes to life with silver ink on the color of your choice at Baby Wit. All you need are some
rainbow suspenders (found at Suspender Store) and a satin baseball cap with wings on the side.
DIm all the lights sweet darling and take a spin around the rink, or down the street, in the coolest
colorblock roller skates from Fred Flare. They are 70's era fun for big kids, made awesome with those colored wheels.
For babies, Big Bird relives the days of disco on this
Roller Disco Sesame Street onesie or tee at Babesta.Yes, he was around then. The tee comes in sizes all the way up 12 years for your retro-cool tween.
And of course, how could we not include a
Studio 54 tee. You don't have to explain what really went on behind the velvet ropes there circa 1978. Just go with it.
RIP Robin Gibb and Donna Summer. Thanks for the music.
