Ooh la la! A market tote at a not so upmarket price.

Only a few days until pool season officially starts for us here in the the deep south, which means I'm stocking up all our swimming staples: swimsuits, flip-slops, and our pool bag.
With all the straw baskets and totes taking up shelf space in almost all of my favorite shops, I'm thinking I might forgo our typical canvas bag for something a little different. And I found just the one that I want.
I'm completely in love with the look--and price--of this
French Market basket from
Harabu House, which is hand woven in Morocco by farmers looking to earn extra income. Made from a combination of palm leaf, water reed, and wild grasses, the tote features double handles that are both long and short, allowing you to carry it a couple of different ways, whether you need a pool bag like me, or a cool grocery tote or handbag.
At $42, it's really not much than most of the mass-produced, fake straw versions I've seen for sale everywhere. Awesome. -Kristen
Editor's Note: It appears that prior to our post going live, the price of the market tote changed to $46. Still a great price for a cool bag!

Excellent! Happy to say that I've actually had one of these bags for years, but then... I live in France! And it is a great market bag, and easily fits in front of my feet when I drive the scooter back home!
Hand-made in the old town of Nice, in a local 'Vannerie' shop (basketmaker). 15 Euros.
Glad to see I'm finally ahead of the cool-trend!! :-)
