Well lookie here at what Gap is doing these days: taking a page from the Target Shops, West Elm's indie artist selections, and other mainstream retailer partnerships with the little guys. Because starting today, Gap has joined forces with the quirky, uncommon tees from Threadless in a brand new collection made just for kids. The Gap Threadless tees for kids have launched with five cute designs--of course. After all, they're all crowdsourced and chosen by you. Lim Heng Swee's bunny shirt is crossing fingers, ears and legs--not sure if she's hoping for something or just really has to pee. And how can you not adore a paper airplane with big, twin-engine dreams? Sizes run from 12 months to 5y.
The
quality is quite nice, with a soft, slouchy feel to the clothes,
tagless backs, and touches like shirred cap sleeves on the girls' designs. Besides, it's kind of nice to know that you can now walk into
your average Gap in
the mall and find a shirt hipper than one that says...well, GAP on it. -LizFind More: Baby Clothes, Big Brands Doing Cool Things, Cool Clothes for Boys, Kids Clothing

As a fan of threadless, this kind of bums me out.
Good point, Charissa! We love the idea that independent illustrators will now have greater exposure for their work.
