So uh, we understand that sometimes new moms have questions?

How to Rock Your Baby by Erin BriedHow much allowance is too much? When can kids start playing video games? Will it kill them to eat dessert first? All important parenting questions, but the first few months (and really, for the first few years) you won't care about much more than the basics. What I needed -- and most new parents need, too -- is some easy advice that can be read with both eyes at half mast.

New mama Erin Bried, author of the advice-ful How To Sew A Button, went looking to seasoned moms for some solid, time-tested tips on soothing, feeding and general mama-ing. She then  distilled it into How To Rock Your Baby. In it you'll find advice from mom "experts" from Elaine Maddow, mom of MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, and Sunchita Tyson, mom of astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson--so you know they're doing something right.

Here, you'll find common sense wisdom on everything from ways to burp your baby to how to bronze baby shoes yourself (Yes, it's still a Thing), all written in an upbeat and helpful voice. Because one more thing we new moms need? More upbeat, helpful voices.  - Barbara
