Cool boys' clothes from BobinetteI know you’ve heard that old complaint about how boring it is to dress a boy. I hear it all the time, and I think it’s nonsense

Sure, I can’t dress my sons in adorable outfits that I wish I could steal for myself; let’s say we have different taste in clothes. But there are still plenty of options to allow them to develop their own sense of individual style, which may not necessarily involve trucks, motorcycles or hockey sticks.

This is we’re such big fans of Bobinette
round these parts: unique and exquisitely crafted clothes for boys,
with no licensed characters to be found. What a breath of fresh air! And now their Spring/Summer 2012 collection is here, and it’s inspired me to add some playfulness to my own son’s wardrobe.
Boys' western shirts at Bobinette

If
your little boy is cowboy-obsessed (who doesn’t love Toy Story?) ditch
the licensed t-shirt and try this western-inspired shirt instead.

Bright boys' button-down and red shorts from Bobinette

If you think little boys can’t wear bright colors, without looking over-the-top, this outfit totally proves that wrong.

And okay, so not every little boy is going to want to pull off pink. But for dress-up days, we love the style of a little boy in a swanky vest and button-up, over shorts that still let him run around knocking stuff over. Or is that just my kid? –Roxanna

Bobinette and the new spring/summer 2012 line is available at Crab Apple Kids and Lil’ Swanky.
