If Santa's elves make everything, why do the boxes say "made in China?" my little sister asked me several decades ago. Her prescient question rings more true now than ever, where it seems unlikely that the handiwork of elves had much to do with the toys I see on store shelves.

The mom-owned Little Choux online store is filled with imaginative toys, lovely room decor, and adorable accessories---like our favorite Vs mittens that we discovered this week. And there isn't a blinky, noisy, battery-operated toy anywhere, though Little Choux does have a finger on the pulse of cool, with toys and crafts by Tegu and GLOB, along with loads more.

Be warned that you can loose a lot of time browsing through this online shop, so my suggestion is to go straight to their neatly arranged Holiday Giving Guide with gifts divided up by age.
