Kiwi Crate - Surprise! Supplies!!!
If you've seen our posts about Birchbox for beauty junkies, Foodzie tasting box for gourmands, and most recently, the Umba box for all kinds of mamas, you'll recognize that monthly subscriptions are all the rage. Kiwi Crate, just launched this week, is a wonderful new
subscription service for kids, created by parents. Each month, you'll
receive at least two inspired activities and materials designed to get
them to create and explore. Just in time for winter.
This is perfect for those parents with the best intentions (ahem) who often can't find the time to assemble thought-out creative projects.

I checked out a box themed around gardening
and it included flower pot decorating supplies, and a more science-based
project around growing seeds. I love how it was meant to last longer
than the usual 15 minute rush of new toy--especially if your
seed-growing is as slow going as ours often are.
If the $19.95 a month is a little much for you
year round, they also offer 3 and 6 month subscriptions. I can't help
but think what a great idea this would be for someone with
nieces/nephews on the other side of the country or for out of state
grandparents who are looking for something special to send to the kids.
Or hey--send it to the grandparents so that the kids always have
something creative to do when they come to visit.

Great idea - just wish there was something similar for older kids. My daughter is 7 yr. old but loves to do crafts and science experiments.
