I still remember the '76 bicentennial (yes, I am that old), dressing in head-to-toe red, white and blue and waving to beeping cars at the end of our street. Now that I have kids, I try to find something patriotic for the kids to wear on the fourth. But since my wallet frowns upon one-day-only wearables, I have been on the lookout for tasteful, adorable and, yes, patriotic items the kids can look cute in beyond just a single day. -Christina
Whether they're marching in a Fourth of July parade or just standing on the sidelines, these Chuck Taylor Flag Sneakers are bound to get noticed. I love Chucks in any color, though this stars-and-stripes version looks so much cooler than a bedazzled flag tee. (infant/toddler sizes at Piperlime)

great ideas, i am also a fan of a red and white shirt and jean shorts for the kids - patriotic and re-wearable!
