Beaba Babycook: Now you're cooking, mama

Call me ecologically bankrupt, but I'm willing to pay for convenience. Disposable dipes and wipes are a mainstay around here, as was jarred baby food--until I tried the
Beaba Babycook.
This little gadget steams and blends fruits and veggies quickly and efficiently, even for a kitchen novice like me. Not only does the sleek modern design look great on my counter, the
Babycook is made of safe Polysulfone--meaning there's no leaching of any
chemicals into my carefully-prepared home made baby food.
It comes with a recipe booklet with instructions for making such delicacies as pear compote and tomato coulis, but I just tossed some diced fresh veggies into the basket, and steamed and pureed them in about 15 minutes. Clean up was a breeze, and now I don't have to feel guilty about throwing empty plastic food containers in the garbage.
What did my baby think of his preservative-free veggies? He grimaced and pounded the tray of his high chair like he'd just done a shot of tequila...then he opened his mouth for another bite. That's a ringing endorsement.
