I have resisted featuring tutus here for like a million years – or at least two – because frankly, 99.9% of them are too frilly, foofy, poofy and mega-princessy for even our little princesses. Rule of thumb: A tutu shouldn’t look as if it has eaten your child whole.

But I have happily come around now that I’ve seen the delicious little creations from designer Nathalie Beardon of Kennedy & Friends.

As a fan of hers put it, the kids wear the tutus and not the other way around. I love the simple contrasting color palates and the amazing restraint she shows with the amount of tulle and size of the ribbons. Not a whiff of marabou or a spec of bling to be found, and still, any little girl would be absolutely moonstruck to add one to her dress-up chest.

Come to the dark side, tutu-wary moms. Wait til you see how happy it makes your chica when she twirls.

Edited to add: It appears that Kennedy & Friends is no longer on Etsy.
