Science Geek Fashionistas, Your Jewelry is Ready

nervous system necklaces.jpgThe notion of art, science, technology and fashion colliding can be a little odd--I'm thinking a line of Steven Hawking hair accessories might not be ideal. But in the case of Nervous System, it works completely.

Two MIT grads find jewelry inspiration from patterns in nature, like the stainless steel full moon necklaces which mimic seaweed patterns using randomly generated dots. The coral necklaces are super cool too, as are the gold-plated radiolara pendants with a description unlike any other we've ever seen: "To create the radiolaria line, we used a particle system (a physics simulator which works with point particles and forces) to simulate a hexagonal mesh of springs."
