Style-Conscientious

Only two minutes of searching the web for baby shoes for my newly crawling little man of the house and I'm drowning in a sea of leather booties. Love leather booties, but isn't there something different out there?

Enter my saviors, Veja baby shoes, which we found at one of our favorite shops, Nonchalant Mom. We can't say enough about the French company's mission to support fair trade practices -- that means no children at work here, and decent wages paid to employees. Plus they use ecologically sound materials like organic cotton from small producers in Brazil. Certainly a refreshing change in the shoe game.

They're a bit more than you might pay for mass market leather booties but they're on par with baby's first sneakers. Plus, they're way cheaper than shoe shopping in Paris. -Kristen
