I've got quite a few friends who are expecting October or November babies and heck, that's not really too far off. I need to get my gift-giving head out of summer romper land and start considering more appropriate suggestions.

We found this absurdly cute little Sleepy Little Monkey Blanket (the designer calls it a "Snookie") at The Baby Gardner which, incidentally, has just been added to my list of new favorite shops. The 15x13 blanket (more like a lovey) is hand knit out of a cozy and washable chenille blend and personalized with the baby's name on a pocket that holds a sweet slumbering simian.

Don't worry - the little guy is attached with ribbon that should be able to resist even the brute strength of a newborn baby. -Liz

Nothing's worse than dry baby cheeks, so you might want to check out TruKid's Hero Stick. It's great for cuts and scrapes, but also works on chapped skin as well and is made with all natural ingredients.

Also, the Cheeky Baby Butter from Baby Bear Shop works well on moms and babies. It's doesn't come in stick form, but it's definitely thicker than a cream or lotion.
