Boyz in the Hoodie

As much time as I spend on the web tracking down cool clothes for kids, I'm admit I'm still often at a loss for gifts when I hear a friend has a boy on the way. If only I liked those sailor suits, things would be a whole lot easier.

And then I discovered Sir Hayes.  

A wonderful resource for urban chic boyswear, this mom-run, Brooklyn based design shop merges street chic with royalty-inspired flourishes like the deep purple ribbon tag that's become their signature. I love the witty, graphic tees and tops, but above all I'm crushing on the Royal Layette - it's a hoodie turned beautifully made sleep sac that's every bit as soft as your favorite sweatshirt. It comes in gray and the navy shown here, which is a stunner.

I think I've finally found my go-to newborn boy gift. Sorry, sailor suits, it's Goodwill for you. -Liz
