Boys Will Be Boys. Even Without Trucks On Their Shirts.

I've got two little girls myself. But when I'm buying gifts for the sons of friends and family, I tend to shy away from the camouflage pants and the construction-themed tees that every store seems to push on me. I suppose I feel they can still be "all boy" without dressing like miniature soldiers or welders.

Little Lark, a mom-owned enterprise out of Portland, just went to the top of my go-to list for little boys' gifts. The designs capture modern, little guy style without resorting to Village People archetypes. The pants are printed with a tiny bird in flight carrying a worm, and coordinate with each of the shirts and onesies featuring graphic, hand silkscreened prints of bicycles, trees or robots.

But, if you absolutely insist, you can pair them with a bulldozer t-shirt. You've still got time to help him develop some style before he starts noticing girls. -Julie
