When I was a child, everyone ate peanut butter sandwiches and drank milk – no questions asked, no concerns voiced. Fast-forward twenty-five years, and I’m overwhelmed by the number of children with food allergies, especially life-threatening ones.

It took the perspective of becoming a parent myself for me to grasp this new reality, and now I routinely ask parents before playdates: “Does your child have any food allergies?”

But if they replied yes, my child is allergic to tree nuts and by the way, here’s her epi pen, what would I serve?
Now I have an answer – Divvies.

Treats free from peanuts, dairy, tree nuts and eggs that have been given the thumbs up by both doctors and the foodies at Gourmet Magazine. With bakery cookies and flavored popcorn for every day, candies and cupcakes for special occasions, mom and Divvies founder Lori Sandler’s treats can safely be shared with everyone at the party or in the classroom. By the way, they’re also vegan, kosher, and contain no hydrogenated oils. Forget kids with allergies – I think everyone should be eating these.
